HealthCare Innovations – Virtual Hospital Interactive Training Program – A Case Study

A medium-size pharmaceutical company was preparing to launch a new hospital product. Wanting to hire new hospital representatives from within their current office-based sales force, they needed an effective, engaging home-based learning system to prepare their sales representatives.

HealthCare Innovations (HCI) partnered with the client to develop an iPad friendly, e-learning program that integrated interactive text, audio, application and in-hospital interviews and video to provide the learners the opportunity to “walk the halls” of the clinical environment, design a strategic selling strategy and to build confidence and competence along the way. The prelaunch preparation time was significantly improved by using the Virtual Hospital to supplement the live training prior to product launch. As a result, the representatives were able to focus their efforts on the product and selling strategy at the launch meeting and hit the ground running on launch day 1.

A New Year for HealthCare Innovations

(January 27, 2010) As we turn the page on 2009, we tend to look for new beginnings in the New Year.  We are happy to announce a new beginning and rebirth of an old standard – HealthCare Innovations (HCI).

HCI was originally founded in 1995 by Linda Morales and focused on developing customized training programs for physicians and pharmaceutical sales professionals. Programs included medical education initiatives (advisory boards, speaker training, teleconferences, and product/disease training for physicians and patients), as well as pharmaceutical representative training, such as disease preceptorships and sales training curricula.  Additionally, HCI worked closely with pharmaceutical clients and clinical research organizations (CROs) to develop effective, impactful training for launching large scale Phase IIIb and IV clinical trials. After ten successful years in business, Linda retired from HCI to take care of a ill child.

Linda is happy to report that her son has almost completely recovered from his severe epilepsy and, with the help of medications, has remained seizure-free for three years. An entrepreneur at heart, Linda has resurrected HealthCare Innovations, and her team will once again dedicate itself to developing creative, impactful learning solutions that will enhance healthcare and pharmaceutical professionals’ success.
